L2 - Certificate in Understanding Safeguarding and Prevent

In 2019, a total of 5,738 individuals were referred to the Prevent programme, with the education sector accounting for 33% of this number. Anyone wanting to work in local authorities, schools, colleges, uniformed services or health and social care needs to be aware of safeguarding and the Prevent duty and how to include these principles in their day-to-day work practices. This level 2 course will give you a greater awareness of safeguarding and the Prevent duty, the responsibilities and procedures involved, and how to raise concerns effectively.

    This distance learning programme will enable you to further your personal and professional development and gain new knowledge and understanding.

  • Course Structure


    You can learn at a time that suits you, however you must be able to commit to attending college twice during the course to submit units and complete progress checks.

    The course must be completed online within 10 weeks.

    This course is fully funded, meaning there is no cost to you.

    On completion you will gain a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.

    You are welcome to take more than one course, but you can only take one course at a time.
