Mental health problems affect around 1 in 10 children and young people. These issues include depression, anxiety and conduct disorder and can often be a direct response to occurrences in their lives. Emotional well-being is just as important as a child's mental health, therefore it is important for those working with children and young people to have a good understanding of the concepts, risk factors and impact of mental health.

    This distance learning programme will enable you to further your personal and professional development and gain new knowledge and understanding.

    This course will cover the following:

    • Unit 4 - Understand the Impact of Children and Young People's Mental Health Concerns

    There are lots of opportunities available to you to progress across the South Thames Colleges Group and into the world beyond education.

  • Course Structure


    You can learn at a time that suits you, however you must be able to commit to attending college twice during the course to submit units and complete progress checks.

    The course must be completed online within 10 weeks.

    This course is fully funded, meaning there is no cost to you.

    On completion you will gain a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.

    You are welcome to take more than one course, but you can only take one course at a time.
