There are lots of reasons why behaviour might be challenging. Anxiety, neglect, abuse, learning disabilities, dementia, to mention just a few. If you want to gain a better understanding of challenging behaviour and how to support individuals who display it, this online qualification is a great way to build your knowledge. You will learn about what behaviour that challenges means, why some people display this behaviour and the impact it can have. You'll also gain insight into how to support positive behaviour, the importance of communication and how to manage challenging behaviour.

    This distance learning programme will enable you to further your personal and professional development and gain new knowledge and understanding with the following units:

    • Unit 1 -What is meant by the term 'behaviour that challenges'?
    • Unit 2 -How to recognise changes in individuals that may indicate an episode of challenging behaviour
    • Unit 3 -The importance of non-verbal communication
    • Unit 4 - How reflection on an incident can assist in managing future behaviour

  • Course Structure


    You can learn at a time that suits you, however you must be able to commit to attending college twice during the course to submit units and complete progress checks.

    The course must be completed online within 10 weeks.

    This course is fully funded, meaning there is no cost to you.

    On completion you will gain a nationally recognised Level 2 qualification.

    You are welcome to take more than one course, but you can only take one course at a time.
