We are pleased to announce that the centre provides Pearson BTEC HNC in Construction Management for England (Pathway Construction Site Supervisor), which is certified by Pearson in collaboration with the following organisations:

The purpose of Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Construction Management for England is to develop students as professional, self-reflecting individuals able to meet the demands of employers in the construction sector and adapt to a constantly changing world. The qualifications aim to widen access to higher education and enhance the career prospects of those who undertake them.

Entry Requirements
The requirements of this course are:- BTEC Level 3 qualification in Construction and the Built Environment (or a related subject)
- GCE Advanced Level profile that demonstrates strong performance in a relevant subject or adequate performance in more than one GCE subject. This profile is likely to be supported by GCSE grades A* to 5 and/or 9 to 5 (or equivalent) in subjects such as Maths and English.
- Other related Level 3 qualifications
- Access to Higher Education Diploma awarded by an approved further education institution
- Related work experience
- International equivalent of the above.

The objectives of the Pearson BTEC Higher Nationals in Construction Management for England are to:- Give students the skills, knowledge and understanding they need to achieve high performance in the international construction environment

- Provide the core skills required for a range of careers in construction, specifically those related to management and operations

Course Structure
The Level 4 units lay the foundation of learning by providing a broad introduction to construction and different construction management functions. This develops and strengthens core skills while preparing students for specialist subjects at Level 5 or to enter employment with the qualities necessary for job roles that require some personal responsibility.Students will gain a wide range of construction knowledge linked to practical skills gained through research, independent study, directed study and workplace scenarios.
Students are involved in vocational activities that help them to develop behaviours (the attitudes and approaches required for a competence) and transferable skills.
By the end of Level 4, students will have sound knowledge of the basic concepts of construction. They will be competent in a range of subject-specific skills as well as in general skills and qualities relevant to key areas of construction.
This course incorporates:
- Effectively planned trips, with a direct relevance to the syllabus, which would add value to the learning experience.
- Employer links: -Guest speaker Experts from industry or visiting academics in the subject area that is being studied. -Workshops are used to build on knowledge shared via tutors and seminars.

Assessment Details
Methods of teaching includes lectures, tutorials, workshops, and supervised study, as well as online teaching. For the HNC, 15-credit unit at Level 4 - will be assessed by a mandatory Pearson-set assignment targeted at skills. All other units are assessed by centre-devised internal assignments.An assessment schedule will be delivered in the beginning of the course.
