STCG Schools Partnership Offer
Here at the South Thames College Group we offer a wide range of workshops and talks that aim to empower students with the information they need to make confident post-16 decisions. From application workshops to onsite taster days, our objective is to ensure students are ready to make the transition from KS4 to KS5 learning.

Post 16 Study Assembly
An overview of post 16 education options with a focus on vocational education and apprenticeships. This session can be tailored dependent on the needs of the school or year group in attendance.
Application Support
Practical support for students who have not yet applied to college. The presenter will bring tablets/laptops to help students apply or support the application process in an IT suite in school. Wi-fi access required.
Subject Taster Sessions
Either on one of our college sites or at your school, Curriculum teachers will give students a taste of what to expect from a wide range of subjects and courses. Including plumbing, construction, hairdressing, public services etc. Please enquire about specific subjects.
Study Skills Workshop
An interactive session in which students are given creative and effective revision methods and tools to help enhance the efficiency of studying.
Vocational sessions targeted at small groups of Y11 students
Engaging and informative sessions aimed at arming students with the understanding of how vocational courses can lead to multiple university and employment opportunities. These can include demonstrations and tasters from subject teachers.
Parents Evenings
In person support with from our Information, Advice and guidance team and/or School's Partnership team available at your schools parents evening to give information on student options and help to facilitate in giving students a sense of direction and vision.
Careers Fairs / Employability
On site participation in Careers and Employability Fairs offering information on college courses and progression routes to employability through vocational course, Apprenticeships, A Levels and Undergraduate courses.
Interview /CV writing
Guidance and support with CV writing, Interview techniques. Students will be equipped with the necessary tools to feel confident when looking for employment.
