Teaching English to speakers of other languages (CELTA)
CELTA is an initial teacher training course, though you may already have some teaching experience. It's an internationally recognised qualification that gives you the skills to become an English language teacher and is ideal if you're looking for a new career opportunity. Teaching practice is a main component of the course.

Course Structure
This course covers:- Analysis of English from a foreign learner's point of view
- Development of language skills, resources, lesson planning, teaching, pronunciation and classroom management

Input sessions on language awareness and methodology, observed teaching practice and observation of experienced teachers.
- From September 2026 fees are scheduled to be £1,649. You may be eligible for the Advanced Learner Loan, which covers £864 of the fee. You should also budget around £50 for books and materials.

A portfolio of coursework and observation of teaching practice.
