This course will give you a ladder to a career in plumbing. You'll learn how to install, test and maintain hot and cold pipework and heating systems. The course will test practical and knowledge-based skills. A mixture of theory and practical and examinations, You'll have visits to trade shows to help you see the latest developments in the industry. Our guest speakers are already successful in their roles and their advice will give you the inside view of what it's like to succeed and what employers are looking for.

  • Entry Requirements


    After applying, you will be invited to a ‘Meet the Tutor’ event. This session provides information, advice and guidance about the course you have applied for. It is also an opportunity to learn more about the programme, understand what will be expected of you, and ask any questions you may have.

    As part of the application process, you will be asked to provide a copy of your most recent school report and/or a reference from an employer or relevant professional. This helps us understand your current progress and ensure we can support you to succeed on the course.

    Entry Requirements

    • Two GCSEs at Grade 3 (D) or above, or a relevant Level 1 qualification

    • GCSE English and Maths at Grade 4 (C) or above, or equivalent qualifications

    • A Science qualification is desirable but not essential

  • Progression Next Steps


    Move up to the Level 3 Plumbing City & Guilds course or find work as an improver or plumber's mate. Or look for a plumbing apprenticeship.

  • Assessment Details


    Continual theory and practical assessments and nine online exams. You must pass all units and exams.
