Course Content
You'll meet in London for walks and outings to places of historical interest. You'll receive a timetable giving details of the venues and meeting points in London. Over 10 sessions, we will learn more about the 33 London Boroughs, focusing on some of the Outer Boroughs. Walks will include discovering a little-known local museum in West London, visiting the East London area known for its car plant and celebrating the Mayor's London Borough of Culture 2022 in South London. Other walks and visits will be announced as the programme unfolds. This course is for anyone with an interest in the history of London, its eclectic architecture and the various communities which make it an ever-evolving vibrant capital city. No prior knowledge is required as key facts are explained when needed. Informal assessments take place through discussions between participants. Follow-up handouts are provided when applicable.
Walks and visits are designed for all ages and fitness levels. They all start and end near a London Underground Station or a convenient bus stop. There may also be bus rides depending on weather conditions, to make the most of an area in a comfortable way.

Additional Information
Because London weather is unpredictable, layering is strongly recommended. Use a base layer, mid-layer (e.g. fleece), and an outer waterproof layer if needed. A waterproof or windproof jacket (or shell) is useful. For city walking, you don't necessarily need heavy hiking boots — but good walking shoes or well-worn-in trainers with good support are ideal. Water: Bring a water bottle — walking for 1.5–2 hours or more, having water helps. -
