L1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment
Please note, the fee for this test is £119, There are no concessionary fees available for this test.
This Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment qualification is one of the qualifications required for people who want to go on to apply for the CSCS Green Card, to access construction sites in the UK as a non-skilled worker.
South Thames College run regular test days. Once you make an application, you will be notified of the next available test day.

Course Content
The L1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment course contains five key areas of learning:- The principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work
- The importance of safe manual handling in the workplace
- The importance of working safely at height in the workplace
- The risks to health within a construction environment
- The importance of working around plant and equipment safely

Course Structure
Not applicable. Candidates are just attending college for a test. Candidates have 70 minutes to complete the test. -
Assessment Details
The L1 Award in Health and Safety in a Construction Environment The pass mark is 80%. The duration of the online test is 70 minutes. The assessment will contain: 11 questions on 'The principles of risk assessment for maintaining and improving health and safety at work' 8 questions on 'The importance of safe manual handling in the workplace' 9 questions on 'The importance of working safely at height in the workplace' 12 questions on 'The risks to health within a construction environment' 5 questions on 'The importance of working around plant and equipment safely'Candidates will receive their result on the day they take the assessment.
