Clothes Making And Pattern Cutting:

This course starts you with a solid foundation and progression in pattern cutting and clothes making. The main aim is "Sew your own Shirt"

The pattern cutting section teaches the learner to draft blocks of various body measurements and the adaptation of blocks to develop pattern pieces for various fashion styles.

The Clothes making however, train learners to construct clothes professionally. The creativity of the course with its holistic approach equips learners with employable skills into the fashion industry. Main aim is to create a Bespoke Skirt Block and design your own perfectly fitted skirt.

    Learn professional sewing techniques, including: Constructing cuffs Constructing a button stand Creating a two-piece shirt collar Setting in sleeves

    Develop key clothes-making skills: Threading and operating the sewing machine Sewing seams accurately Constructing garment samples Applying finishing techniques

    Build confidence with essential tools and processes: Using sewing tools and equipment, including the sewing machine Understanding pattern-cutting terminology and basic manufacturing processes

    • Sharp 2H pencil (preferably mechanical pencils with a 0.5mm or 0.7mm lead)

  • Course Structure


    Each session combines tutor demonstrations, hands-on practice, and guided exercises to develop your skills progressively.

  • Assessment Details


    Initial assessment when joining the course, Tutor feedback, individual learning plan , informal assessment and homework.

    There will be individual and group tuition, with teacher led discussions and demonstrations. This course does not cover drafting patterns and learners will use commercial sewing patterns.

  • Teaching and Learning


    Learning takes place through a mix of demonstrations, guided practice, and individual project work. You will have the opportunity to plan and create your own projects under the guidance of an experienced tutor. There will be time in each session for discussion, feedback, and developing your practical techniques.
