2 day  Stretch Fabric Clothes making skills for Improvers and Advanced

This new two day course for improvers and advanced skills will allow you to learn how to sew and finish stretch fabric on the our modern Bernina sewing machine. You will have the opportunity to make a jersey garment. To make shorts, trousers (or a skirt) please buy ONE of the following patterns;

Purchase any of these 3 patterns & bring to use on this 2 day course;

  1. Simplicity Unisex Sewing Pattern S9337
  2. OR New Look Separates Sewing Pattern 6730
  3. OR New Look Women's Separates Sewing Pattern 6762

OR You can draft your own straight jersey skirt pattern on 2m of pattern paper if you wish!

This course will be taught by Asma Chowdhry asma.chowdhry@stcg.ac.uk The recommended fabric is a two way stretch jersey. Come in on a friday and see the jersey we have in the department before buying.

Alternatively, advanced learners can choose to apply the shirred elastic method you have recently learnt and reuse an existing pattern to make a shirred waist trousers or shorts, etc. Recommended fabric is a lightweight thin fabric and a minimum of 1 x 10m reel of shirring elastic ( e.g. Hemline or Guterman)
