Thank you to the London Fire Brigade for a fantastic day at New Malden Fire Station. Uniformed Protective Services students were given an insight into the day in the life of a Firefighter. The students started the day by being shown all of the equipment on the fire engine and the checks that must be carried out at the start of every shift. The students then had a go at using the fire pole in order to get from the communal area to the truck as quickly as possible for an emergency call out. The students practiced using the hose, retrieving casualties from a smoke chamber and ladder climbing.
