Carshalton College is thrilled to introduce its newest member of the Creative Industries teaching staff.
Stuart De Ville is course lead and lecturer for Level 3 Games Design. He comes with a vast range of experience, not only in game design, but the creative sector overall.
Stuart founded three game development companies and is currently the director of an indie game studio, zappoppow.co.uk, who are working towards their first console title.
Stuart is also director of gamedev.london which centres around the UK indie community of games developers. He and his team support those who are looking to get into the industry with digital and physical events including game jams. The Game Dev London team produce and host a podcast that releases episodes every Monday on all types of game development topics. “
He also directs at MEMO 360, a game development company which aims to create game systems that support people with dementia.
Over the past 20+ years Stuart has acquired vast artistic knowledge and experience.
To give you just some insight into his experience: he has illustrated for a book that has been published and is in the ICA (The Institute of Contemporary Arts) in London; has designed and built sets for theatre and social events; created motion graphics and idents for digital marketing and branding for companies such as MasterCard, The O2 Music Awards, and End Of The World Live Events; designed editorial layouts for an indie music magazine; taught graffiti workshops; been creative art director and story boarded for a video production company; and collaborated in fine art projects reaching Berlin, Paris and London.
Stuart now takes great pride in sharing his wealth of talents to support and motivate the young minds of tomorrow.
