This month South Thames College, in association with DWP Job Centre Plus, launched the first virtual Youth Hub for DWP/JCP Wandsworth.
Young people aged 18-24 were referred by the local Job Centre, and were able to have short online careers-based 1:1s with the following organisations:
- United Living
- Talk Wandsworth
- Groundwork London
- STC – Sue Rathmell
- John Sisk & Sons Ltd
- Twining Enterprise.
The event went really well, and the young people all commented on how it had helped them to better plan for future employment opportunities, or training. Initial feedback from the partner organisations attending was also positive.
It is now intended for the College and DWP Job Centre Plus to open a physical Youth Hub in the Wandsworth Town area in early 2021.
