Last week during National Apprenticeship Week, the Metropolitan Police Outreach Team visited the College to speak with our BTEC Level 3 Protective Services students about their exciting Police Degree Apprenticeship.
The excellent session was led by Sergeant Pardeep Sanghera and Police Constable Putt Mahehyong, who discussed the benefits of becoming a Police Officer and the exciting career opportunities that are available including the Police Degree Apprenticeship which includes on-the-job training combined with academic learning at a London university.
As part of the Degree Apprenticeship the students would gain valuable knowledge and hands-on experience of different areas in policing as well as earning a starting salary of £30,000 per year with no tuition fees.
Tutor, Ciaran Fox said: “The students were very interested in applying for the Police Degree Apprenticeship as it’s a great opportunity for the students to 'earn while they learn' and undertake a very rewarding and exciting career in the Police. The Met Police Outreach Team encouraged all of the students to start their application for this worthwhile Apprenticeship, and I look forward to liaising with the Outreach Team for future Met Police events.”
