Peninah Kebeba

It is with great sadness that we announce that one of our Access to Higher Education students Peninah Kabeba, known in Merton College as Penny, received fatal injuries in an incident at her home last Thursday.

Penny was a much loved friend and class-mate, and a model student with 98% attendance. She was an incredibly caring person, and would have excelled in a nursing career, which was her goal. Our hearts and thoughts go out to the family and friends of Penny who has been the victim of a terrible crime. Penny was originally from Uganda, and a crowdfunding campaign has been set up to cover the costs of repatriation (link below). The College will be making a donation and we are in touch with the family.
