Safeguarding

Triple Disinction* Public/Protective Services student, Archie Tooth, has gained the highest grade* possible on his BTEC course.

“The teachers and support staff at Kingston College were absolutely amazing from the get go. When I joined the Public Services course I was going through a particularly challenging time in my life, struggling with mental health. The staff were lovely and I was provided with all the support I needed both academically and emotionally throughout my time there. The College provided a safe and encouraging space to help me to not only achieve academic accomplishments but also develop myself and my own confidence and self-belief. Going in the very shy and anxious person I was, I did not expect to develop the lasting friendship that I am now leaving with. Two years on, my confidence and wellbeing has gone on leaps and bounds. I’ve got a part time job, started my own small business selling pet portraits Art by Archie and am excited to move on to the next stage of my life! My passion has always been with animals and I now plan to pursue that, having accepted an offer at the University of Chester to study Animal Behaviour and Welfare.

“My advice to year 11s thinking about next steps is do whatever you are interested in now. Interests change, goals move, if you decide it’s not for you after all you can always change direction. I started this course thinking I would leave ready to join the police, now I’m going to study animal behaviour. You don’t have to have everything planned out already. Just do what you are interested in now and maybe you’ll discover your real passion along the way.

“Massive thanks to Kingston College and especially the staff who worked with me for encouraging me and giving me the support I needed to get started on life’s next adventure.”
