BTEC Triple Distinction* Business student Mabel Howell has plenty to say about why BTEC was the right route for her.
She says: “I’m currently seeking work in TV Production and have recently worked at Sky Sports. I transitioned to Kingston College after doing AS levels at Sixth Form which I struggled with and had no interest in whatsoever. I was then able to perform to my best ability on a vocational course at Kingston College, where I obtained the highest grade possible. I would advise people to also pick a style of learning that suits them, for me, that was a vocational course.
“My advice to anyone in Year 11 would be to choose something that you have a genuine interest in, not something that you think would just be a good ‘academic option’. What I’ve learnt is that if you have no interest in the topic or subject, the likelihood of you doing well is slim.”
