During the visit, learners from AAT Level 2 Accounting attended a talk led by Colin John MacKinnon (Senior Bank Manager) on the types of careers available in the banking sector, and the key employability skills he looks for from staff.
The session was followed by a series of Mock Interviews which all of the Accounting learners took part in. One of the learners performed so well, that they have now been invited for a formal interview with Halifax Bank for a paid part-time role.
Upon completing the morning's events, Colin commented: “So lovely to see such talented youth interested in education powering their future careers. It was great to see the engagement from the group and the questions they had, there was a lot of talent in the room that I could see working in my organisation."
