Former BTEC Sport & Exercise Science student, Tyler Newman, has graduated from St Mary’s University with a First Class Honours degree in Sports Communications & Marketing. Tyler finished his two year BTEC at Kingston College in 2019 gaining D*D*D*, the equivalent of 3 A* at A Level.

Tyler says: “I studied a BTEC and this was a great decision which benefited me massively in obtaining the maximum amount of UCAS points enabling me to get into my preferred university. The teachers at Kingston College were all very friendly and supportive and treated us like adults. I look back on my college years with great fondness and think they were the best years of my life so far! I made lots of life-long friends and the support from my teachers and tutor was second to none! I really enjoyed my Fridays in my second year as all of my lessons were with my tutor, Jade Douthwaite, and the camaraderie and group focus led to some fantastic productivity for our coursework.

"Jade was a fantastic help and support throughout my two years, especially during my second year where I had a lot more coursework to complete. Jade was also incredibly knowledgeable when it came to applying to universities and helped me with my Personal Statement for my UCAS application."

Tyler will be returning to Kingston College in the Autum term to give an inspirational talk to first year Sport, Sport Science, Coaching & Fitness students.
