As part of Employability Week at Kingston College, our Protective Services students had sessions with two members of staff from the British Army Reserves.
Sergeant Gary Palmer from The Royal Yeomanry regiment in the British Army Reserves met with the students on Wednesday 23rd March, and Corporal Andrew Miller from the British Army Reserves G(Guards) Company met the students on Tuesday 22nd March.
This was an interactive session and the students gained valuable knowledge about the role and responsibilities of the British Army Reserves.
They both discussed the different countries that they visited as part of their Army Reserves training as well as explaining that all expenses were paid for their training opportunities overseas. They also discussed the variety of roles and opportunities available within the British Army Reserves including Adventurous Activity Training and the relevant qualifications that can be gained. The benefits of being paid for being part of the Army Reserves was also highlighted.
Both of these sessions with Sergeant Gary Palmer and Corporal Andrew Miller were very helpful and the students gained valuable knowledge of the exciting opportunities available in the British Army Reserves.
Many of the students asked questions at the end and expressed an interest in joining the Army Reserves.
