BTEC ICT student, Callum Brown, has achieved an incredible D*D*D with us (the equivalent of 2 A*s and an A at A Level).
Callum says: “The main reason I chose BTEC was that I struggle when it comes to completing exams and become very forgetful during exams which normally results in me getting a lower grade than I deserve. With a BTEC the pressure of exams are removed and the grade I have achieved reflects what I am capable of.
“I chose Kingston College because when I attended the open evening the staff were very friendly and the building and facilities were very good. Also the learning environment that was presented felt like it was a right fit for me and I really enjoyed being there.
"I am now going to Kingston University to study BSc (Hons) Computer Games Programming. The BTEC course helped me decide what area of ICT I was most interested in. My favorite part of the course was doing programming using VS C# which has made me very excited for my future course at Kingston University.
“My advice to anyone thinking of applying is to be open minded and to do their best in all of the units as they might discover that they really like something in the course, as opposed to something else that sounds more fun. Also this course covers a wide range of different areas in ICT and will help them hone in on what they want to specialize in, so doing this course will help them for their future.”
