Ayesha Ahmad is one of our students taking a Merton Adult Education (MAE) course. Ayesha, 38, is currently studying for a Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, as well as certificates in Understanding Autism and Understanding Children and Young People's Mental Health.
Ayesha says: "I started the Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools Level 2 course at Merton College in 2018. I really enjoyed studying it and I found my course tutor Debra to be very supportive. Last year I progressed to the Level 3 Diploma in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools and we covered specialist units in more depth. These courses and the placements have been excellent for me because teaching is my passion! The college is really welcoming and the staff are friendly, approachable and knowledgeable.
I have had careers discussions with the college careers adviser Martina, who helped me with my job search and gave me some excellent advice and guidance. I’m currently working at a primary school in the Early Years department and finding this role really enjoyable. Thank you to everyone at Merton College for all your help and support over the last few years."
