Pen, the owner of Crisp Packet Project commented, “I had a brainwave back in November because I volunteered for a charity and we couldn’t afford to get sleeping bags or biffy bags so I thought the next day at work I decided to make a bivy bag out of a crisp packet, it’s all surplus waste that we use to stop it going into landfill which is really helpful. The reflective heat from crisp packet foil helps people and we put air vents in so they don’t get too hot, this is the first stop of my UK tour.”
Business Level 3 student Angela Abbey commented ‘One of our projects is to do event organisation so as part of our project we teamed up with the bivy bag project, collected crisp packets and organised an event where by we collected crisp packets, we made posters and left bags around the college for people to put them in. We contacted different people to come to the event and organised event catering, it is a very hands on project and I’ve got a real feel for event organisation’
Business Course Leader Peter Evans said “This project was not just to achieve a qualification, it also engaged learners with challenges facing the world such as environmental waste and rough sleeping.
