Safeguarding

The Autumn term was a busy one for our Beauty Therapy Level 1 and 2 students.

Studies included learning about the Anatomy and Physiology of the arm and hand, plus practicing their luxury manicures.

To help get a better understanding of the beauty industry and all the different treatments, companies and suppliers involved, we took them to the Olympia Beauty Show in Kensington. This was a fantastic opportunity to experience some of the treatments on offer and to get an idea of the different pathways and progression they can take after completing their studies.

We believe it helped our students to understand the skills required to work with companies such as CACI and Dermologica and to have a clearer idea of what they wanted to achieve from their course. Many have already expressed a keen interest in progressing to Level 3. Others have expressed an interest in completing independent courses in Nail art, Semi lash extensions, Derma fillers and Botox.

Overall, the trip was a huge success and a great team building exercise.

We were also fortunate to have a full Micro- blading demonstration. The students were able to see how much preparation is involved and the level of hygiene and education needed to complete such procedures. Micro blading is an advanced Level 4 treatment, so this was also important to show the students that Levels 1 & 2 are just the beginning of their journey and there truly is no limit if they are willing to commit.
