Do you have a passion for flowers creativity using flowers? This Level 1 Award is a great place to begin your floral adventure. You will create arrangements for all kinds of occasions, providing you with confidence in your practical ability. Whether you are ultimately looking for employment within this creative sector or simply wanting to improve your designs at home for pleasure, this course is a great place to start.

Entry Requirements
This course is for beginners, for learners who are keen to embark on a career in Floristry or a keen hobbyist wishing to develop new skills. This course requires an initial assessment. The initial assessment allows us to identify if the course is right for you and understand any extra support you may need. No previous floristry knowledge is required. -
Course Content
The NCFE Level 1 Award in Floristry is ideal for students wanting to learn floristry and floral arranging, pursue a career within the floristry sector or for those wishing to expand and update their knowledge and improve their floral designs. We will focus on the skills and techniques required to produce commercial floral designs, bouquets and arrangements for various occasions.On this course you will :
- Watch live demonstrations and create floral designs.
- Learn about Health and Safety and working in the floral industry.
- Develop basic skills in flower arranging craft and the underpinning knowledge of the craft process and basis for progression into further study in floristry.
- Learn how to use materials, tools, and equipment successfully and safely whilst gradually developing a portfolio of their practical floristry designs.

Some sundries are included in the course fee. Students will need to allow £10 per week approximately for the purchase of flowers and foliage however, this cost may be reimbursable via the college bursary.If you are in receipt of certain benefits then this course may be funded or a discount and you can apply for a bursary for the cost of the materials

Course Structure
You will be required to successfully complete the 3 mandatory units below.- D/506/2654 Explore craft resources (3 credits)
- H/506/2655 Explore craft ideas (4 credits)
- D/506/2671 Create, present and review final floral design (2 credits)
Learners will create a portfolio of learning evidence to include practical designs and achievement of the learning outcomes and assessment criteria.
