Level 3 in Criminology, Psychology and Law (mixed pathways)

This new exciting course gives learners the opportunity to study three different pathways and gain A-level equivalent grades in a range of subjects. The course includes: WJEC Level 3 Diploma in Criminology BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Applied Psychology BTEC Level 3 Extended Certificate in Applied Law

This mixed pathways programme is for two years with progression routes to Higher Education.

  • Entry Requirements


    4 GCSEs grades 4-9 including English and Maths Keen interest in the subject area

  • Course Content


    In Applied Psychology the units include Psychological Approaches, Conducting Psychological Research and Health Psychology.

    Applied Criminology units include Changing Awareness of Crime, Criminological Theories, Crime Scene to Courtroom and Crime & Punishment.

    Applied Law units include Dispute solving in civil law, Investigating aspects of criminal law and the legal system, applying the law & contract law.

    These qualifications are designed to support learners who want to progress to university. All learners will complete one week of work experience during Term 2.

    These qualifications can lead to a broad range of courses in Higher Education, and you will be advised on the best combination to choose by the Course Leader, according to your university or career goals.

    Degrees in areas such as: Psychology or Sociology Criminology or Psychology degree (or combined Criminology with Psychology) Criminology, Criminal Justice & Forensic Science Law and the Legal System Education Studies or Child Psychology. Sport Psychology

  • Assessment Details


    There will be exams for each pathway in Year 1 & 2 As well as exams, there will also be assessments consisting of case studies, essays, coursework and controlled assessments.
