The Level 3 Extended Diploma in Health and Social Care course is for students who have successfully completed and passed the CACHE Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care. The course further aims to develop the skills you need to start a career. The qualification is equivalent to three A-Levels, which means that when you have finished the course, you may choose to go into full-time employment or higher education. Work placement is an essential and mandatory part of the course and is well regarded by universities and employers.

  • Entry Requirements


    Four GCSEs A-C/9-4 including English and mathematics. This course is a step-up from the Level 3 Certificate in Health and Social Care which you will have successfully completed and passed with an overall A - C grade in order to progress to the second year. Selection is by interview and a satisfactory reference is required.

  • Progression Next Steps


    You have a choice to go either straight into employment where you could work and train in hospitals, nursing homes and health centres or, if you decide to go into Higher Education, you could study a range of degrees including Nursing, Midwifery, Social Work, Psychology, Sociology, Nutrition, Education or even Law and Criminology.

    You will be assessed through a range of assessment methods including assignments, projects, presentations, professional discussions and in-class assessments. You will also be required to pass an external assessment (exam).
