  • Entry Requirements


    Applicants should have at least 32 UCAS points from one A-Level, a BTEC Level 3 or equivalent qualification. An interview where you will need to prove some experience in production arts or equivalent. You are encouraged to present a portfolio of work or link to your social media/website evidencing productions you have previously worked on. You will also need to provide a satisfactory reference. Mature students with relevant experience may also be considered.

    You will be taught by an experienced teaching team whose expertise and knowledge are closely matched to the content of the modules on the course. The team includes senior academics, professional practitioners with industry experience, demonstrators and technical officers.

    All Kingston College HE courses are taught in English. You must be able to demonstrate a level of English equivalent to IELTS IELTS 5.5; Reading and Writing must be at 5.5

  • Course Structure


    Teaching: You are taught through a combination of hands on practical workshops, live events and lectures. In addition, you have timetabled meetings with your personal tutor. You will use industry-standard equipment and have access to The ACT Theatre, make-up studios and library facilities throughout your course.

    Independent Learning: When not attending timetabled sessions you will be expected to continue learning independently through self-study. Typically, this will involve ACT Maintenance, working on individual and group projects, undertaking research or preparing coursework assignments and presentations. A range of excellent facilities support your independent learning.

    Overall workload: Your overall workload consists of class contact hours, independent learning, and assessment activity.

    Assessment:

    The course provides you with multiple teaching and learning opportunities before final assessments are carried out. The holistic assessment methods include Live Production Briefs and Performances as well as a range of coursework based assessments such as essays/ reports/ portfolios/ presentations. All assessments are spread across the year to make the workload manageable.
