Thinking about university study in music? This course prepares you with the broad skills and experience you'll need. You'll develop production, recording, and academic skills through a wide range of projects that mirror degree-level study.

Entry Requirements
We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.An audition or recorded example of a performance to demonstrate that you have the appropriate level of skill required to succeed on the course. We love to see your creativity!
A satisfactory reference is required from an employer or relevant professional other, in order to further progress the application. This ensures we can support you to achieve, on the right course for your skills and ambitions.
GCSE English and Maths grade 4/C or above is required, or you may be asked to complete internal English testing to demonstrate you are at a level to engage with the course fully. If you do not have GCSE English or Maths qualifications, we aim to give you the opportunity to study them alongside the Access course at Kingston College.
Please note that it is your responsibility to ensure your current and future qualifications comply with the entry requirements of any university to which you intend to progress.

Course Content
Learning is varied and practical. You'll cover units including studio recording, piano skills, DAW sequencing, music for moving picture, and academic study skills.You'll complete assessed recording sessions, live projects, and other coursework-based assignments, supported by expert feedback.
You'll learn in professional-standard facilities including rehearsal spaces, dedicated mixing suites for editing and post-production, and two fully equipped recording studios with Audient consoles. You'll also use dedicated Apple Mac suites loaded with industry software, professional mics and instruments, and the ACT Theatre for larger projects and showcases. Core software includes Logic Pro and Pro Tools.
