L3 - BTEC Technical Occupational Entry for Personal Trainer (Diploma)

Students on the L3 BTEC Technical Occupational Entry for Personal Trainer (Diploma) course have the opportunity to achieve a nationally recognised licence to practice qualification. This course enables students to develop a purposeful combination of knowledge, skills and behaviours to enter employment as a personal trainer or fitness instructor.

This qualification is designed to meet the needs of students pursuing a career in the health & fitness sector and provides a clear line of sight to employment in an occupation that is recognised and demanded by employers. This course will develop transferable skills such as good communication, customer care, problem solving and IT skills and will also cover safeguarding and personal trainer ethical behaviours.

    Students should have achieved four GCSE's at grade 4 or above, to include either Maths or English and a Science.

  • Course Structure


    Level 3 Technical Occupational Entry qualifications are qualifications that are at Level 3 on the Regulated Qualifications Framework (RQF) and are designed to deliver the skills needed to enter or progress in the workplace.

  • Assessment Details


    All units are internally assessed. Achievement in the qualification requires a demonstration of depth of study in each unit, assured acquisition of the practical skills required for employment and successful development of transferable skills.

    Units are assessed using a grading scale of Distinction, Merit, Pass and Unclassified.

    All units in the qualification contribute to the overall grade.
