Level 3 Certificate in Barbering - Intensive (February)

Applicants must already hold a level 2 certificate (or equivalent) in barbering.

Learners must have achieved Level 1 Numeracy and L2 English.

To ensure students develop the professional standards and industry-ready skills required for employment, work experience in a commercial salon or barbershop is a mandatory component of all Hairdressing and Barbering courses.

Students progressing to the next level must have secured and actively engaged in relevant work experience. This is a non-negotiable requirement for successful course completion and progression.

Work experience provides essential real-world exposure, enabling students to apply practical skills, build client confidence, and understand industry expectations. Students are expected to secure a placement, attend consistently, demonstrate professional conduct, and reflect on their development.

Support will be provided by the college to help students secure appropriate placements.

This course teaches everything you need to be a top barber – from basic scissor cuts to basic style fades, shape-ups and beard grooming, and then on to advanced drop fades, creative scissor cuts, cut-throat shaving, razor outlining, and advanced styling.

Assessment will be continuous and students are required to demonstrate competency in a variety of tasks.
