CACHE Level 3 Diploma for the Early Years Workforce - Early Years Educator (Adult Learners)

We will invite you to a Meet the Tutor event where you will receive information, advice, and guidance about the course you have applied for. This will be an opportunity for you to gain valuable information about the course and give you the opportunity to ask any questions you may have.

You will provide a copy of your last school report and / or a reference from an employer or relevant professional other this will include attendance. This is to ensure we can support to be able to achieve well on the course. Applicants with 85% or below attendance will have been deemed not to have met this criteria. All applicants are given an opportunity to discuss any evidence based mitigating circumstances that may have affected the reference / school report.

Details of employment must be provided before enrolment - A visit to your workplace will take place in the first 6 weeks of starting.

Applicants will need to be working in a child care environment (350 placement hours needed throughout the duration of the course). Throughout your course you will need to spend a minimum time working with babies 0-1yr 11mths = 25 hours, toddlers aged between 2-2yr 11mths = 133 hours and pre-school children 3-5 years = 192 hours.

4 x GCSE's at C/4 or above, or a Level 2 Certificate / Extended Certificate or above, at Merit or above, in a relevant subject. Including English and maths GSCE at C/4 or above, or Functional skills Level 2 in English and maths.

Applicants aged 19+: can apply for a 19+ Advanced Learning Loan, or can self-fund.

A DBS (police) disclosure is required for this course.

Up to two years, part time, one evening in College. The course is delivered on Wednesdays from 1pm with a blended learning approach.

You will be allocated an assessor who will visit you in the workplace to action plan your progress and set you tasks to complete. When you are ready to be assessed, your assessor will come and assess you in your workplace. You will need to attend College once a week to take part in some group activities and to be taught sessions which cannot be conducted on a one-to-one basis. Funding for part of the course fees may be available from your local Early Years and Childcare Service. The College offers a variety of early years study options and will direct applicants to the most appropriate course dependent on achieved GCSE grades and prior experience.
