Gain the Basic Skills for a Career in Hospitality & Catering

Do you have a passion for preparing food? Or perhaps you really enjoy providing excellent customer service and would love to work front-of-house in a catering or hospitality setting? If this sounds like you, then take a look at our 6 week Hospitality & Catering Pre-Apprenticeship Programme starting w/c 16 October 2023.

The 6-week programme covers:

Knife skills - Knife safety/knife types/types of cutting; preparing vegetables; preparing meat;
breaking down a chicken; food hygiene
Basic cooking skills - Making soup, ragu sauce, white sauce, red wine sauce; bread making;
confectionery
Front of house skills - Setting a dining service for different occasions; taking orders and serving food/beverages (including wine); barista duties; understanding spirits and mixology

Alongside learning these basic skills, you will also complete three qualifications:

NCFE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Excellence in Customer Service for Hospitality

CACHE Level 2 Certificate in Understanding Nutrition & Health

NCFE Level 1 Certificate in Employability Skills

The programme will run from w/c 16 October on:
Monday, Wednesday and Friday
9.30am-3.30pm

By completing this programme, you are showing our employers that you have the ability to complete fundamental tasks within the kitchen and front-of-house from the get go. At the end of the programme we offer you a guaranteed interview with an employer to help you to secure a work placement for your Apprenticeship.
